This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was acquired by the seller’s mother in Washington State and remained in the state through the seller’s acquisition following their mother’s passing in 2016. The car is finished in Arctic White over black leather upholstery and powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes anti-lock brakes, a removable hardtop, a black soft top, 15″ Gullideckel wheels, fog lights, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM cassette stereo. Work performed since March 2022 included lubricating the chassis, adjusting the roof latch mechanism, flushing the coolant as well as replacing the tires, the electro-hydraulic actuator valve, and wiper blades. This R107 shows 35k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a car cover, a tool kit, a portable hardtop stand, a first-aid kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington State title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Arctic White (147U) and features a body-color removable hardtop and a black convertible soft top. Additional details include a front air dam, quad headlights, front fog lights, centrally-positioned windshield wipers, a power antenna, and ribbed lower body panels and taillights as well as chrome-plated mirror caps, bumpers, side molding, window trim, and aftermarket wheel arch accessories. The trunk lock and roof latch mechanism were repaired under current ownership, while the wipers were replaced in March 2022. The seller notes scuffing on the rear bumper chrome, splitting of the clear vinyl on the side windows of the soft top, and paint chips on the body, close-up photos of which are presented in the gallery.
Chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with 205/65 Cooper CS5 Grand Touring tires, which were installed in preparation for the sale. The car was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. Lubrication of the chassis occurred in March 2022.
The bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and are complemented by a color-coordinated dash, center console, and door panels. Carpeted floor mats line the footwells, and additional appointments include a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM cassette stereo, illuminated vanity mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, and wood trim. According to the seller, the right side mirror requires adjustment.
A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and fuel economy. The six-digit odometer shows 35k miles. The trip odometer does not work, per the seller.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. Work performed in preparation for the sale consisted of replacing the electro-hydraulic actuator valve and the windshield washer reservoir in addition to flushing the coolant.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The differential fluid was replaced in March 2022.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in New Jersey, Idaho, Arizona, and Washington.
