This 2006 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Iridium Silver over AMG Berry Red and black leather. Equipment includes a retractable hardtop with a panoramic roof, 18″ AMG five-spoke wheels, bi-xenon headlights, heated multicontour seats with massage, COMAND with navigation, and a Bose sound system. The car was first registered in New Jersey and later spent time in Connecticut before being purchased by the current owner in 2015. This R230 SL55 AMG has 44k miles and is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of his spouse with manufacturer’s literature, two key fobs, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The SL55 AMG featured deeper front and rear valances and sill extensions when compared with the standard R230, and this example is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic. Equipment includes bi-xenon headlights with heated washers, quad exhaust outlets, and auto-dimming side-view mirrors with integrated signal lighting. Blemishes on the hood and front bumper cover are shown up close in the image gallery below, and the seller notes scratches on the right rear fender.
The 18″ AMG five-spoke wheels are mounted with 255/40 front and 285/35 rear Pirelli P Zero tires. The car is equipped with an Active Body Control (ABC) suspension and AMG-branded eight-piston front and four-piston rear calipers over brake rotors measuring 14.2″ up front and 13″ out back.
The two-tone cabin features AMG Berry Red leather on the seating surfaces and lower dashboard with contrasting black leather covering the upper dashboard and door panels. Amenities include heated multicontour seats with massage, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, cruise control, and COMAND infotainment with navigation. The trunk lid struts were replaced in January 2022.
The multifunction steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, an AMG-branded 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 44k miles, approximately 11k of which were added under current ownership.
The supercharged 5.4-liter V8 was factory rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The ECU was replaced in January 2019, while an oil change and battery replacement were carried out in February 2022. A replacement crankshaft position sensor and a new air filter were installed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission with AMG SpeedShift.
Manufacturer’s literature, two keys, and service records dating back to 2005 are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history with three owners in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida.
