This 1981 Honda CBX Super Sport is finished in silver with black and red graphics and powered by a 1,047cc DOHC inline-six paired with a five-speed transmission. Equipment includes a Corbin two-up seat, a Hondaline-Kenwood stereo, an oil cooler, air-adjustable suspension, a Kerker six-into-two exhaust system, an ETK fork brace, a replacement 150-mph speedometer, ComStar wheels, triple disc brakes, and lockable hard saddlebags. The bike was acquired by the seller in 2020, and subsequent work is said to have included overhauling the carburetors, adjusting the valves, and replacing the tires, rubber brake components, and spark plugs as well as repainting the engine and vapor-blasting and clear-coating the rocker cover. This CBX is now offered at no reserve with a tool kit, a Honda air-pressure gauge, an owner’s manual, three keys, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The CBX was built in Super Sport trim for the 1981 and 1982 model years, and this example is finished in Magnum Silver with black and red graphics. Equipment includes a Corbin two-up seat, a clear windscreen, a radio antenna, powder-coated engine guards, body-color lower fairings, passenger grab rails, fairing-mounted mirrors, and lockable and detachable hard saddlebags. The seller states that paintwork was performed on the frame and the center and side stands and notes that there are paint imperfections and cracks in the left side cover and saddlebag.

ComStar wheels measuring 19″ front and 18″ rear and were mounted with Shinko Tour Master tires under current ownership. Suspension consists of an air-adjustable conventional fork with an ETK fork brace as well as a Pro-Link aluminum swingarm mounted with an air-adjustable monoshock that features three rebound settings. Braking is from dual internally vented discs up front and a single conventional version at the rear. The seller states that the brake master cylinders and calipers were fitted with replacement rubber components under current ownership.

Instrumentation includes a replacement 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 9,500-rpm redline, and a voltmeter. Indicators for the turn signals, high beam, rear air suspension pressure, neutral, and low oil pressure are integrated into the dash. The five-digit odometer displays 5k miles, 600 of which have been ridden by the seller, though total mileage is unknown. A Hondaline-Kenwood stereo is integrated into the fairing, with controls located on the right handlebar.

The 1,047cc DOHC inline-six features an oil cooler and a Kerker exhaust system with twin three-into-one pipes, and factory-rated output was 98 horsepower. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included refinishing the engine in satin black and vapor-blasting and clear-coating the valve cover, case covers, and camshaft end caps in addition to bypassing the vacuum fuel shut-off valve, overhauling the six Keihin carburetors, and replacing the battery, petcock, fuel filter, fuel lines, air filters, and carburetor-to-cylinder head rubber boots. The valves were adjusted and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
