This Ford is a steel-bodied five-window coupe finished in satin green over a tan upholstery and powered by a 350ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2015 and subsequently modified with work including lowering the top 2″ and shaving the handles on the rear-hinged doors as well as installing a Ford 8.8″ rear axle with 3.55:1 gearing, a side-exit exhaust, four-wheel disc brakes, QA1 coilovers, LED lights, Stewart Warner gauges, bucket seating, power windows, and a touchscreen Bluetooth stereo with a backup camera. This Ford five-window coupe is offered in Canada by the seller on behalf of the owner with and Newfoundland Labrador registration listing it as a 1931 Ford Coupe.
The top was lowered 2″ and flush-mount doors were modified with rear hinges and shaved handles before the steel body was repainted in satin green. Exterior features include black bumpers, LED lights, flush-mounted taillights, side mirrors, electric windshield wipers, and heat-wrapped side-exit exhaust pipes.
The 15″ black alloy wheels wear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with slotted rotors, and the solid rear axle is mounted using four-link geometry with a Panhard bar. Additional modifications include an independent front suspension with QA1 coilovers and a Flaming River steering rack.
The bucket seats are trimmed in tri-tone tan leather with black headrests and are joined by matching door panels, a brushed aluminum dashboard, and black carpets. Additional interior equipment includes power windows, a heater, lap belts, a fire extinguisher, Sparco carbon-fiber pedals, and a touchscreen Bluetooth stereo with a backup camera. A 10-gallon aluminum fuel cell, battery, and spare tire are mounted in the trunk.
The black steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and fronts Stewart Warner instruments including a 160-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges indicating oil pressure, fuel level, voltage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates that approximately 300 miles have been added since completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci Chevrolet V8 wears an Edelbrock air cleaner cover and valve covers. Cooling is handled by a custom radiator assisted by twin electric fans mounted in an aluminum shroud. The oil was changed in July 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 8.8″ rear axle with 3.55:1 gearing.
Images showing the car at various stages of the refurbishment are provided in the gallery.
